Podcast Ideas

I want to talk about sports, specifically football, because I'm really passionate about football. Therefore, I can talk confidently about it, as being a podcast host you should be able to speak about the topic you want confidently. Or sometimes you could talk about a topic your host is well versed in, and your wanting to get knowledge from them. Also, my friends who I'm going to get on my podcast, are also very smart in football, and we all support different clubs, so i think it will be a good debate. Also, a lot of people love football, so I think it will attract a lot of viewers. Jax and Dylan are my 2 guests.
The other topic I would like to talk about is politics, and I think I could link it well to football, because the world cup 26 is being hosted in USA, and recently a lot of controversial stuff has been happening in the US, regarding ICE, Trump and Epstein files. Which I can then talk about other political things going on in the world gradually. So I've made a switch from football to politics by linking them both to one topic. This could be interesting for other viewers and get more popularity, and it is always fun to talk about what's going on in the world with others, to get their insight on it.
References that I will use

These videos are good for references that I can use, as he talks about Qatar world cup scandals, Brazil world cup and this one coming up and America. I can bring up the stuff he says in these videos, its mostly about him going into the corruption of FIFA. In one of the videos, he digs into Beckham, which I can now also link to the Beckham family scandal happening recently. A good thing he does, when he talks about something, he has his news articles and references on the screen, which i can research and look more into.

This is a BBC news article about the very controversial ICE agents, that might be sent to the Olympics. Which is a very serious matter, as these agents have been causing nothing but chaos, and putting peoples lives in jeopardy, therefore since the USA will send ICE to the Olympics, are we to expect them at the world cup?
This is a New York Times article about the Epstein Files. They update it live with recent news regarding him and the files. This a very big thing right now, and its important to talk about, as the US Government has been failing to send all documents with redactions, like they promised to. This questions the reliability of the government, and the fact that maybe their trying to cover up peoples names, to protect them.

Research
On the left is a clip where things got awkward on the podcast, between Simon Jordan and Deontay Wilder, and on the right is where Simon Jordan reflects on what happened, and feels embarrassed about it. Obviously, we wouldn't want things to get heated in our own podcast. But this shows that it can happen, and I can use this to not let the same happen in mine. But it is interesting on what they were both saying.
Talksports is my inspiration because their my favourite podcast. Whenever I would get dropped off or picked up by my dad, talksports was always playing in the car. Therefore they massively impact the topics I want to talk about for my podcast. I want my podcast to be a genre of sports and politics, and talksports is probably one of the best sports podcast. I like the sarcasm, humour and topics that they talk about. What's also good is that they dont always agree with the same things, and it might even turn into a interesting debate. Which is different to other podcasts, where everyone will just agree with the same things. I want my podcast to have the same vibe as talksports.
Final Podcast

At the start of this assignment I was really excited that I was getting to make my own podcast, as I've always wanted to. So for pre-production, I already had an idea that I wanted to talk about football, but as you can see from my mind-map, I also had ideas to talk about political stuff, especially because how the world is at right now, politics is all you hear about at this point. Pre-production was fun to do, I liked getting resources from different places to talk about in my podcast, to back whatever I'm saying, and also references are good to have. Getting research from places like talksport was also easy for me, as I already listen and follow up with them regularly. So all together pre-production was good.
Production was obviously the most fun to do, I first got everything I wanted to talk about on my notes app, so I would be ready to talk about the next thing, so I wouldn't have any awkward gaps. I also added a quiz from google about football, as I thought this would be a nice thing to do as a break for my guests. I ended up not talking deep into politics, instead I stuck to football, but then did a small shift into politics IN football. Which keeps a nice rhythm between me and my guests. Setting up the podcast wasn't hard, we had 3 different camera angles, (unfortunately one died halfway), and then we set up 3 mics and connected it to the channel analog mixer. I had one person on each camera and someone with headphones to make sure everything sounded good. All together production was really fun.
Post-production was again good, I uploaded all my clips to OneDrive, and then once uploaded on premiere pro, I first put everything in order, and the same scenes but different camera angles over each other, and then made a nested sequence, and used multi camera to choose which shot I wanted, and I could just switch between angles depending on my preference deleted any distractions, cuts, and stuff that I didn't want to make the final vid. After that I added the audio, and had to match it up to the scene perfectly, by cutting up any sound I didn't need, and if it matched our mouths when speaking. I also added a cut scene from YouTube. All together post-production was good, with no errors and mistakes.
